Marina Ibiza reaffirms its commitment to nautical sports by hosting a new edition of the APD Regatta and actively participating with its own boat. This time, the marina celebrates a sustainable victory thanks to its 100% electric sailboat.
Last Thursday, May 8, Marina Ibiza once again became the epicenter of corporate nautical activities, hosting an annual event that is already a reference in the business events calendar.
During the 9th edition of the Crossing Regatta organized by the APD, 11 boats and nearly 120 executives from companies in Ibiza and Palma set sail with the Cala Figuera lighthouse as the starting point, Tagomago as the finish line and Marina Eivissa as the seaport between the port of destination, consolidating the city for another year.
In addition to offering its infrastructure to host the event, Marina Ibiza achieved victory with the Galaxie, a classic and efficient electric sailboat, which surprised with its performance and results.

Despite the complicated conditions due to the lack of wind —which forced many teams to start their engines to complete the course— some boats managed to sail within the time limit. El Galaxie, standing out for its endurance and the good coordination of its crew, completed the crossing brilliantly, adapting to the conditions and achieving a well-deserved victory.
This sailboat, a Chantier de Biot 70 based in the marina itself, took advantage of the time compensation system (rating), which balances the competition between boats of different characteristics. Although it initially seemed to be lagging behind when passing the first buoy, the change in wind conditions allowed it to unleash its full potential.

"It was a technical regatta where we knew how to wait for our moment. When the wind picked up, the Galaxie demonstrated its strength, allowing us to recover positions and finish with a very competitive time," declared Raimon Martinez, captain of the Galaxie, at the end of the race.
The Galaxie stands out for being a fully electric boat, positioning itself as an example of sustainable navigation. In line with its environmental commitment, Marina Ibiza chose to compete with this boat, reinforcing its commitment to clean and responsible solutions within the nautical sector.

In addition, the regatta included a solidarity action: €3,400 was raised for the Pitiüsa Association for Mental Health (APFEM), thanks to the involvement of all participating companies. CaixaBank doubled the contribution and raised the total donated to €7,700 to support local projects.
The day closed with the award ceremony at the Calma restaurant, located in the marina, in a ceremony closed by the CEO of Marina Ibiza, Marcos Marí, who highlighted:
"We are proud to see how Marina Ibiza continues to be a meeting point for the business community at sea. Having hosted this edition and, in addition, having won with our own team, has been an enormous satisfaction for everyone. We will continue to support initiatives like this, which combine sport, networking and passion for nautical activities."

With this victory, Marina Ibiza not only consolidates its role as the preferred venue for high-level nautical events, but also as an active participant, reinforcing its bond with the sea, the community and respect for the environment.
